Soul Skills Summer Camps

Soul Skills Girls Summer Camp is a three week journey designed for girls ages 6-11 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to be mentored on tending the Earth, themselves and each other. These golden years of childhood, as the elementary years have been called, is a very potent time in human development, lead by the heart, when children are building relationships to themselves, the world and each other.

The intention of the Soul Skills Girls Summer Camp is to create a space for 13 girls in this golden time to be held in a circle of creativity, connection and care as they cultivate the truth, beauty and goodness of life.

• *We will explore our creative capacity through earth arts of natural dying and needle felting, as well as storytelling, theater and song.
• *We will explore our connection to the natural world through gardening, foraging, herbal preparations and creations.
• *We will explore our care of ourselves, each other, the animals and the land through conscious communication, care giving and cultivating relationships.

This is a program developed out of the impulse of our collective need to

re-weave the village of interdependence we all long for but have become estranged from.

Blossoming out of the Soul Skills Series, this is an answer to the request of many mothers asking for a similar program for their girls.

By mentoring our girls, we are weaving the next generations into the web. Through this, we all become more whole, healthy and happy and can develop as women of capacity, connection and become change makers for the world that awaits us.

Erin O’Neill is the Founder of Growing Home and the Soul Skills Series. She is a mother, maker and mentor and deeply committed to helping all life grow and thrive. Erin is a guide on deepening connections between people, place and the living Earth. Erin has been an ecological educator in Santa Fe for 25 years working with the land and life.

For the past 13 years Erin has been on the transformative journey of motherhood with her three children. She found Waldorf Education as a guiding light in the early days of parenting and was trained through the Lifeways North America program in Waldorf Early childhood pedagogy. Erin taught and ran the Wildflower Parent & Child Program at the Santa Fe Waldorf School for 5 years and led the Waldorf Woods Rose Preschool class room. Erin continues to nurture and guide families as a mentor, counselor and guide tending the spirit of family.

Megan Chandler is a mother, performance artist, and arts educator. Her experience includes over 20 years of sacred community theatre, vocal performance and coaching, ceremonial arts, rites of passage work, Spanish Flamenco singing and arts education, and most recently she has added the making of soulful needle-felted dolls to her repertoire of offerings. She loves to work with people in all of life’s stages to live beautifully and well for the sake of the wild holy world that cradles us all.

Summer Steele is a mother of two and co-founder of “The Village”, a collective dedicated to honoring women’s thresholds through life, through individual and community care. She is also a fertility awareness guide, council holder, birth worker, and artist. Her work is tending to the whole of thriving life, from birth to beyond.
